With the Pioneer of Circular Economy Award – Environmental (E) category at the Vietnam ESG Awards 2025, Duy Tan shared the critical role of technology while also introducing the company’s key sustainability directions and initiatives.

A pioneer in the circular economy
The Vietnam ESG Awards is an award program initiated and organized by Dan Tri Newspaper within the framework of the Vietnam ESG Forum – a national-level forum on sustainable development hosted by Dan Tri, one of Vietnam’s leading online media outlets in economics and social affairs. The program aims to honor organizations and enterprises with outstanding achievements in ESG implementation in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event in his role as a member of SCGP – representing SCG, Mr. Vo Dinh Trung, Deputy General Director of the Innovation and Sustainability Center at Duy Tan, stated that while many organizations have set ESG goals, the greatest challenge lies in practical implementation. According to him, this is precisely the moment when technology plays a pivotal role.

Solutions such as digital data systems, IoT, and data analytics help translate ESG targets from policy orientations into measurable, trackable, improvable, and controllable data. Monitoring energy consumption, raw material usage, and CO₂ emissions in real time enables businesses to quickly identify areas for improvement, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and practicality of ESG initiatives.

In addition, the Duy Tan representative emphasized that ESG implementation should not be confined within the enterprise itself, but should be carried out in collaboration with partners, suppliers, and the community. This approach helps improve standards related to safety, environmental protection, and efficient resource utilization, while ensuring that ESG transformation covers the entire supply chain.
Duy Tan’s ESG advancement orientations
Over the years, Duy Tan has remained committed to its sustainable development strategy, implementing a series of key ESG initiatives.
Renewable energy:
Duy Tan has installed rooftop solar power systems at its factories in Binh Duong (2.17 MWp) and Long An (10 MWp), contributing to a reduction of more than 11,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, supporting the use of green energy and emission reduction.
Digital transformation and AI:
The company applies digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) in production data analysis to reduce waste and defective products, while improving energy efficiency and raw material management.
Reuse and recycled materials:
Duy Tan promotes the reuse of production waste materials directly within its manufacturing processes, while developing packaging solutions with high recycled content, using PCR/PIR materials, thereby contributing to the circular economy.
Design for the environment:
Through design optimization, the company has achieved a 10–20% reduction in plastic usage per product without compromising quality, helping to lower costs and reduce carbon emissions during transportation.

With technology as the foundation for sustainable development, Duy Tan continues to affirm its pioneering role in advancing ESG in Vietnam, aiming for responsible growth and long-term value creation for businesses, communities, and the environment.
